NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF BLOGGING CITIZENS!
I hesitate to say Happy New Year. I am trying to think positive about 2011. The sun is shining. It is a beautiful day and physically I feel great. I went to TWO Zumba classes yesterday and one Yoga class today. I am beginning to tone up from all the holiday pigging out.
I suffered a rocky beginning to 2011 because my laptop crashed and burned New Year's Eve. My granddaughter (15) was visiting and spilled some sticky liquid on it. That was the end of it. It is still under extended warranty until June, so I am going through the long process of arranging for replacement. Meanwhile, I am working on a borrowed laptop without my files which I am hoping to recover, especially the photos downloaded on my hard drive. I have already picked out a light weight, faster laptop should I have to purchase a new one on credit! Yikes.
Other issues I find disturbing are the bird deaths in Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee and Louisiana as well as the storms which killed humans in NW Arkansas and SW Missouri, all in my old territory. I am also reading about how the gulf oil disaster may have affected the New Madrid Fault running through the bootheel of Missouri through Tennessee. You might call me a worry wort. . . however, once I recover from initial shock, I spring into action usually, so you can bet I will be researching, spreading the word, and joining others who are concerned about these issues to try to do what we can to help mitigate these disturbing issues.

Nancy, I am sorry to hear about your lap top. I couldn’t imagine losing lots of important stuff, but I know it happens and it could happen to anyone else too. My fiancĂ© uses an external hard drive, just in case if something happened. He has all kinds of important information that if lost his job would be on the line. I’m thinking about getting on for myself. I hope the rest of your year turns out to be a great year for you.
ReplyDeleteThe deaths of the birds in different stated is quite strange to me. At first I didn’t really think anything of it. I also find it sad about all the people that were killed by that storm. Thank you for sharing this information.
We too are inflicted with the death of birds. They are telling us that they are infested with a parasite called intestinal flukes-trematodes. I heard on the news that the Madison Wisconsin lab is going to be investigating the deaths in other places as well.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your computer. I know what it's like to lose your files! Unsettling really, and I didn't have back up. I've learned from that and back up everything! Hope you can recover your photos!
